December 20, 2018

The Savage wrestling team was home last Thursday night in the Alumni Center to host Little Axe and Tecumseh led most of the way before falling 38-36. The score was tight most of the night and came down to the very last match before being decided.

After the match opened with a double forfeit at 106, the Savage's Jose Solis pinned Little Axe's Freeman Rumley at 133 to give Tecumseh an early lead. At 120, the Indians Justin Thomas pinned the Savages Ryder Kinsey to bring the match to even. Jayce Kennedy of Tecumseh got a win by forfeit at 126 before the Savages' Jacob Cash pinned the Indians' Grayson Spires at 132.

The Indians came back with a forfeit win at 138 before Corbin Bowie and Will Hilton pinned their opponents at 145 and 152 respectively. At 160 and 170, Little Axe picked up wins by forfeit. Tyler Bingham, at 182, came back for the Savages with a pin over the Indians' Keegan Bray.

Little Axe's Caeden Guthery pinned Tecumseh's Seth Haggard at 195 while the Indians' Johnathan Price pinned the Savages' Colton Branch at 220. At 285, the Savages Caeden Shirey lost a 7-0 decision to the Indians' Ruben Hernandez. Little Axe was deducted a team point for unsportsmanlike conduct in the 113 match.
