Lady Wolves Defeat of Lady Cougars 54-35

December 27, 2018

Switching off between good offense and good defense seemed to be the game plan for the Shawnee Lady Wolves when they took on the Lady Cougars of Ada Dec. 21 and won their last game of 2018 54-35.

Despite a turnover to start the game for the Shawnee Lady Wolves, they were the first to get on the board with a three pointer. The Lady Wolves didn't stop there as they led after the first quarter 18-3. The second quarter was a little bit different story as it took the Lady Wolves several minutes to even score as they went into half up only 22-15, getting outscored 12-4.

It didn't take long for Shawnee to strike in the third with Makyra Tremble hitting two free throws within the first minute. Tremble hit several more free throws as the third quarter looked more like the first quarter for the Lady Wolves, at least offensively, as Shawnee, aided by good free throw shooting, combatted Ada's offensive explosion. The Lady Cougars nearly doubled their first half total in the third quarter alone as Shawnee had the advantage 42-29 entering the fourth. It was Shawnee's turn to explode on offense in the fourth quarter, coupled with good defense, as it all started off with Aubree Megehee hitting a layup off of Tremble's assist.

The Shawnee Lady Wolves will be on break until Jan. 4 when they hit the road to take on the Guthrie Lady Bluejays. Shawnee is undefeated in true road games with victories against Harrah, Piedmont, and Ada.
