Bethel School Approves Superintendent Contract

January 17, 2019

The Bethel Board of Education spent just under three hours in executive session Monday, Jan. 14.

Board members voted to enter executive session at 6:46 pm. There was only one topic of discussion for the executive session – Superintendent Tod Harrison's evaluation.

At 9:25 pm the board voted to return to open session. A motion was made and unanimously approved for the continued employment of Harrison as district superintendent through 2021. "I am very grateful to the Bethel Board of Education for the opportunity they gave me two and a half years ago and the opportunity to continue," said Harrison. "The Bethel staff, students, parents and community are wonderful. It is humbling to be able to continue this journey. I look forward to many great things to come. Bethel is a great place to be."

The board also accepted the resignation of Pre-K teacher Trish Epperley. Epperley has been a teacher at Bethel Elementary for 28 years. "While we are sad to see Trish go, we are happy that she can begin her next adventure," said Harrison. "She is a great teacher that we will be missed dearly.  She has made a true difference in the lives of her many students. We wish her the best and hope to see her often."

Bethel Board of Education will hold their next meeting Monday, Feb. 11, at 6:30 pm, in the Bethel Public Schools Administration Board Room. "
