Candidate Filing Opens Monday, Feb. 4

Candidates for municipal office in six Pottawatomie County municipalities file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4.

Jeannie Stover, Secretary of the County Election Board, said the filing period ends at 5 pm Wednesday, Feb. 6.

Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board office for the indicated offices for each of the following municipalities.

• Town of Asher: Three Trustees, 4 year term

• Town of Bethel Acres: Ward 1 Trustee, term expires April 2023; Ward 3 Trustee, term expires April 2023; Ward 5 Trustee, term expires April 2023; Clerk/Treasurer, term expires April 2023.

• City of Maud: Mayor, term expires 2023. Clerk/Treasurer, term expires 2023; Councilmember Ward 1, term expires 2023; Councilmember, Ward 3 term expires 2023.

• City of McLoud: Councilmember, Ward One (1) term expires 2023; Councilmember Ward Two (2), term expires 2023.

• Town of Pink: Ward One Trustee, term expires 2023; Ward Three Trustee, term expires 2023; Ward Five Trustee, term expires 2023; Clerk/Treasurer, term expires 2023.

• Town of Wanette: Three (3) Trustees, 4 year term ending 2023; One (1) Clerk, 4 year term ending 2023.

The municipal offices at stake in Town of Asher, Bethel Acres, Pink, Wanette, City of Maud and City of McLoud will be filled in the nonpartisan General Election scheduled April 2.
