Bethel Approves Continued Employment of Principals

February 14, 2019

The Bethel Public Schools Board of Education approved a contract with Tod Harrison as superintendent for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 fiscal years at its monthly meeting Monday night.

The board also approved the continued employment of certified administrators for fiscal year 2019-2020. All current administrators will remain in their current positions: Jenny Affentranger, Lower Elementary Principal; Tammy Cook, Upper Elementary Principal; Tina Moon, Middle School Principal; Jeremy Stewart, High School Principal; Annie Keehn, Middle School/High School Assistant Principal; and Eric Litherland, Athletic Director.

The board approved the hiring of RN Amanda Thomas part-time as the certified school nurse.

An amended contract with Crossroads Head Start was also approved by the board. The amendment reflects a State of Oklahoma required price increase for meals prepared for the head start. The need for the amendment was brought to the attention of Bethel Schools during a child nutrition audit.

Currently breakfast and lunch is prepared at Bethel cafeteria. Crossroads picks up these meals to be served to students enrolled in their program at Bethel United Methodist Church. For the remainder of the school year the meals will be charged at adult prices.

The presentation by high school principal Jeremy Stewart was postponed to the next regular meeting scheduled for Mar. 11.
