Lady Wolves End Regular Season Undefeated

February 21, 2019

In Shawnee's final two regular season games, including a 54.9% shooting against Noble, both games were over by halftime as Shawnee won both games by a combined 141-62.

When in Noble, you could say the game was over after the first quarter. After one the Lady Wolves were up 15-5. Halftime favored the Lady Wolves 31-13. They only trumped that in the third with a 23-8 drubbing and then a 20-6 final quarter. Shawnee, behind Lauren Fields' 18 points and five steals, won their second-to-last game 74-27 in their largest margin of victory of their season. Ashley Kasterke had 16 points and five steals.

At Carl Albert for their last game of the regular season, Carl Albert kept it interesting after one with only being down 15-13. The second quarter was all Shawnee - literally. The Lady Wolves shut out Carl Albert in the second, 17-0. The third quarter was about the same as Shawnee won 25-5. The final tally favored Shawnee 67-35. Fields had 21 points on 66.7% (6-9) shooting and 8-8 from the free throw line. The entire Shawnee team shot 16-19 from the line. Makyra Tramble had 14 points, five rebounds and seven assists.

With the regular season behind them, Shawnee brings a 21-0 record into Regionals as the top seed where they will face the Enid Lady Plainsmen. The game will take place at Shawnee High School tonight (Thursday) at 8 pm. With a win, Shawnee will play the winner of BT Washington and Sapulpa at Shawnee Saturday at 2 pm.
