The Tecumseh Savage baseball team went on a spring break trip of a lifetime last week - and even got in some baseball against some quality teams in Phoenix, Arizona.

The week on the diamond didn't start out so great on Monday as the Savages dropped a 25-6 decision to Pinnacle. Two huge innings killed the Savages as Pinnacle scored 13 in the first and 10 in the fifth to take the win. Pinnacle out hit Tecumseh 21-8 and the Savages had five errors in the loss.

Jayden Shafer, Kane Ainesworth, Peyton Cooper and Tristin Anthony each drove in a run. Cooper was 2-for-3 while Shafer scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Scoring runs for the Savages were Caleb Kelsey, Ainesworth, Jaxon Meyers and Dylan Graham. Anthony took the pitching loss for the Savages.

The Savages had a better day on Tuesday but fell to Fossil Ridge 4-1 as Tecumseh was out hit 10-4. Tecumseh also was better in the field with no errors. Tyler Thompson suffered the loss on the mound for Tecumseh.

Shafer got the lone RBI for the Savages as he was 1-for-2. Gage Boatman was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored while Thompson also got a hit in the loss.

The improvement continued as the Savages settled in on Wednesday and came away with an 11-9 win over Kellis. The game went into extra innings before the Savages scored two runs in the top of the ninth and then held in the bottom of the inning to secure the win. The Savages out hit Kellis 18-15 in the victory. Andrew Lewis got the win for the Savages.

Ainesworth had four RBIs and was 4-for-6 with two doubles and a run scored to lead the Savages. Kelsey, Shafer and Cooper each drove in two runs while Carson Fletcher also knocked in a run. Anthony was 4-for-5 and two runs scored with a double. Cooper also slugged a double.

On Thursday the Savages were involved in another extra inning game with Castle View, Colorado. After leading 11-6 after five innings, Tecumseh gave up five-runs in the bottom of the sixth to knot the game at 11. Castle View out hit the Savages 14-4 and scored a run in the bottom of the eighth to take the win. Tecumseh slipped up in the field with six errors while Castle View had five.

Shafer drove in two-runs and scored three times while going 1-for-3, including a double. Ainesworth, Cooper, Anthony and Colby Trammell each picked up an RBI in the loss. Kelsey and Ainesworth each scored two runs while Cooper, Anthony and Fletcher each crossed the plate once. Anthony suffered the loss on the mound for the Savages.

On their final day in Arizona on Friday, the Savages ended the week with a win. Tecumseh beat St. Mary's 10-6 to finish the week at very respectable 2-3 to move their season tally to 7-4. Gage Boatman earned the pitching win for the Savages.

Ainesworth was offensive leader for Tecumseh with four RBIs while going 2-for-4 with two doubles. Boatman helped his own cause on the mound with an RBI and a run scored. Kelsey and Shafer each drove in a run for the Savages. Shafer scored twice and was 2-for-3, including a double. Kainan Ryan also had a double and scored a run in the win.
