First-Degree Manslaughter Charges Filed

April 25, 2019

The driver of the second car involved in a Jan. 26 accident that killed two Tecumseh teenagers will face first-degree manslaughter charges.

District Attorney Allan Grubb said Roger Dean Flint, 62, of Shawnee faces two counts, as the result of the deaths of Logan Don Deardorff and Shelby Danielle Johnson. The accident occurred on 45th Street in Shawnee.

Both victims were Tecumseh High School students.

Grubb said the charges were filed after “a thorough investigation by the Shawnee Police Department, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the District Attorney’s Office and meeting with families.”

“It is important that those who cause the death of others by their criminal behavior be held accountable for their actions,” Grubb said in a press release.

In a separate press release, Grubb said he is charging Christian Trey Key with first degree manslaughter “for causing the death of Tanya Lynn Wolfe on April 12, 2019.” Wolfe was a passenger in Key’s car when it struck a pickup truck head on the center line of Harrison and Federal.

According to the press release, Key was driving under the influence of intoxicating substance, driving under suspension and driving “in a reckless, careless and wanton manner.”

“Misconduct which causes the death of others will not be tolerated,” Grubb said in the press release.
