James Theodore Kelley


Shawnee resident James Theodore “Tugboat” Kelley, 74, died Sunday, May 26, 2019, at his home.

Services were held May 30at Walker Funeral Service Chapel.

He was born May 9, 1945, in Romulus, Oklahoma, to Lester “Bub” Kelley and Lena Mae (Satterfield) Kelley. He attended Macomb schools. He worked as a self-employed carpenter and had worked all over the United States. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool, but most of all spending time with his granddaughter he called “Rosebud.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ronald and Billy; a sister, Gloria; and a nephew, James West.

Survivors include one son, Michael Kelley and wife Rachelle of Shawnee; one granddaughter, Kaylee Kelley of Shawnee, two sisters, Dixie Kelley Reed of Shawnee and Virginia Kelley Ernst and husband Ed of Macomb; ex-wife Patricia Kelley of Shawnee; and several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
