ake Dobbs puts everything he has into the pitch as Asher takes on Vici in the first round of state games.

Asher's fall baseball state title hopes were once again dashed in the first round.

Last fall, the Indians were ousted by Leedey, and this year it was by Vici, 3-1.

Dayton Fowler gets under the fly ball to the outfield for the out.

It was neck-and-neck most of the game, but slowly Vici got the lead in the final innings of the game to take the win.

Patch Hamilton hit an RBI to get Jake Dobbs home for Asher's lone run.

Pitcher Dobbs pitched six strikeouts and only one walk.

Vici and Asher were matched at bat with five hits, but Asher had trouble getting their runners around base. Asher also permitted a Vici run on a fielding error.

Vici went on to lose in the next round to Red Oak, who took home the state title after beating Leedey.

Asher finished with a 16-12 record.
