Tecumseh Community Faces Another Tragedy

November 14, 2019

The Tecumseh community, particularly the high school student body, was hit by yet another tragedy Tuesday when a student was killed and another seriously injured in an accident about 11:20 am.

The Tecumseh Police Department said in a Facebook post that the single vehicle accident occurred Tuesday in the area of South Rangeline and Broadway Extension. The vehicle apparently left the roadway and rolled.

Both victims were Tecumseh High School students. Although police declined to release the identities because they are juveniles, a school employee said the young man who died was Ryder Kinsey and the female passenger is Brooklynn Nixon. Kinsey was dead at the scene and Nixon was transported to OU Medical Center by helicopter in critical condition.

According to one Facebook post, Nixon has “a brain bleed and a tear in her heart.”

“Please keep the families, students and faculty in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,” the police department post said.
