Hornets Hustle For Win Over New Lima

The Macomb Hornets are off to a good start in basketball.

Down by a point going into halftime at New Lima, Macomb picked up its defense in the second half to secure a 60-56 win and bring their record to 2-1.

The Hornets caught 30 rebounds, 21 of those were defensive, and made 8 steals.

Senior Blaine Cope led the rebound game with nine, and he also had a steal, while senior Alex Barry led the steals with three. Barry had four rebounds.

Junior Ian Horn scored a third of the Hornets' points, with six two pointers, five free throws and a three pointer.

Barry was right behind Horn with 18 points from five two pointers, five free throws and a three pointer.

Brett Barry scored 12 points on five two pointers and two free throws.

The Lady Hornets didn't fare as well against New Lima, falling 74-16. Their record is now 1-2.

Macomb had an away game Tuesday against Mason, and will play Bowlegs at home Nov. 22.
