Back On His Bike

January 9, 2020

Shawnee police and the Shawnee Police Association took quick action to replace a special bike stolen from a young man with Down syndrome. An officer answering a call Dec. 26 about stolen property learned that an adult tricycle belonging to Cameron Blake had been stolen. Cameron had only recently learned to ride it – an important accomplishment for him. The Shawnee Police Association was contacted and bought a new tricycle to replace the stolen one. Several Shawnee officers delivered the new tricycle to the family. The stolen tricycle is still missing. If anyone sees a similar tricycle to the one pictured, they are being asked to contact the Shawnee Police Department at 405-273-2122. Pictured standing behind Cameron Blake are Ptl. Richard Rider; Ptl. Josh Soward; Cameron's mom, Mary Blake; his dad, Rowland Blake; his sister (unknown name); and Cpl. Shawn Parsons.
