Friday was a night of ups and downs for Shawnee.

The Lady Wolves couldn't handle the pressure of first-ranked Piedmont's strong defense and dropped 51-35 in the home matchup. The Wolves, ranked third, stepped up and ended the night on a positive note with a 57-41 victory.

Esabelle Ramirez was the only of the Lady Wolves not to get stopped up by the Lady Wildcats. She scored an impressive team-high 20 points.

Aubrie Megehee, a usual high scorer for Shawnee, suffered from Piedmont's heavy offensive presence and had only a five-point night.

Only two other Lady Wolves contributed to the score: Amaya Martinez with six and Alesia Thomas with four.

The Wolves hyped up the crowd in their game with a 7-0 scoring streak right out of the gate. They didn't let up against the ninth-ranked Wildcats the whole night.

Tanner Morris led the Wolves with 15 points, and KaVeon Sharp was the other double-digit scorer for the Wolves, putting up 10 points.

Other Wolves scorers: Isaiah Willis and Karran Evans added seven points each, Moses Martinez scored five, and J'Briell Easley and Joe Maytubby added four each.

The Wolves improved their record to 10-2, while the Lady Wolves dropped to 6-6.
