SHS Boys And Girls Swim Teams Sixth At State Meet

Shawnee was represented well at the 6A state swim meet with sixth place team finishes, individual state championships and a new state record.

Freshman Piper McNeil made a big splash in her first state meet with two first place finishes, in the 100-yard backstroke with a 2:05.76 time and the 200-yard individual medley with a 55.49 time.

McNeil broke made a new state record with her 200-yard IM time, beating the previous 56.52 record set by Rylee Linhardt of Edmond North in 2015.

The girls 200-yard freestyle relay team consisting of Piper McNeil, Aspen Chapline, Eva Webb and Isabel Webb won first place with a 1:41.12 time.

The girls team placed sixth with 153 points, and the boys placed sixth with 116 points.
