Bethel Basketball Earns Conference Honors

Bethel Basketball teams were honored after great seasons with several conference mentions in the North Canadian River Conference.

The Wildcats earned the conference championship after a 7-0 undefeated conference showing.

Other teams in the conference were Mt. Saint Mary, Tecumseh, Jones, Harrah, McLoud, North Rock Creek and Little Axe.

Three Wildcats earned spots on the all-conference teams: Drae Wood, John Gordon and Gage Porter.

Jaylon Gordon and Devin Acklin earned honorable mentions.

Senior Jaylon Gordon gets some air on Noble at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.

The Wildcats had an outstanding 19-8 season that ended in the second round of the Area Tournament.

Highlights from the season include beating the Class 5A 18th-ranked Noble 60-47 at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, beating county rival and the 1st-ranked 2A team Dale in a buzzer-beater 45-44 win, and beating the 19th-ranked Vian in the first round of the area tournament.

The Lady Wildcats finished third in conference play with a 5-2 showing.

Their only conference losses were to Harrah and Jones.

Two Lady Wildcats, seniors Kelsie Wood and Kennedy Gregory, earned all-conference nods.

Parker Stevenson, Paige Hubler, and Laney O'Rorke made honorable mention.

The Lady Wildcats finished their regular season in the second round of area with a record of 17-10.
