August 6, 2020

Yesterday, Tecumseh City Hall was closed after officials learned an employee had tested positive for the coronavirus.

City Manager Jimmy Stokes said while City Hall was closed for deep cleaning the decision was made to also clean the town's public Splash Pad at Slick Humphrey Park.

"We closed it yesterday to disinfect the Splash Pad, and it's back open today," Stokes said.

The playground equipment was also disinfected.

The city manager said the employee who tested positive was only in the building for about an hour on Monday, Aug. 3.

While City Hall is closed, utility payments may be made online at http://www.municipalonlinepayments.com/tecumsehok/utilities, as well as at the kiosk and drop box.

Phones lines are still being answered by employees working from home. For utility questions, such as power outages, no water, sewer backups, or billing questions, customers may call 405-598-2189, 405-598-2188 or 405-598-2180.

City Hall is set to reopen on Monday, Aug. 10.
