OSDH Confirms One New Death In Pottawatomie County

Aug. 11, 2020 – Another Pottawatomie County death was reported this week as 45 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH).

A local woman, aged 50-64, was listed among the fatalities reported by the state on Thursday, Aug. 6. Zip code data on that date showed the addition of the first death in McLoud. In all, 52 new deaths were reported by OSDH in the past week.

Pottawatomie County has now had nine COVID-19 fatalities and a total of 459 confirmed cases reported by OSDH. As of Tuesday, 348 county residents are considered recovered by the agency**, leaving 102 known cases considered active.

Virus numbers throughout the county are as follows:

• City of Shawnee - 312 cumulative cases, 8 deaths, 237 considered recovered; 

• Shawnee, 74801 zip - 181 cumulative cases, 1 death, 133 considered recovered; 

• Shawnee, 74804 zip - 124 cumulative cases, 6 deaths, 100 considered recovered; 

• McLoud* - 57 cumulative cases, 1 death, 41 considered recovered; 

Tecumseh - 46 cumulative cases, 33 considered recovered; 

• Prague* - 41 cumulative cases, 33 considered recovered; 

• Meeker* - 22 cumulative cases, 17 considered recovered; 

• Maud* - 18 cumulative cases, 16 considered recovered; 

• Konawa* - 17 cumulative cases, 1 death (Seminole County), 12 considered recovered; 

Earlsboro - 14 cumulative cases, 12 considered recovered; 

• Wanette - 9 cumulative cases, 8 considered recovered; 

Asher - 9 cumulative cases, 5 considered recovered; and

Macomb - 5 cumulative cases, 5 considered recovered; 

St. Louis remains the only Pottawatomie County town with no cases reported.
