As it turns out, the Aug. 20 scrimmage at Elmore City was more valuable than it seemed. A month ago the Wildcats traveled nearly two hours to the southern Oklahoma town and struggled somewhat against a flexbone option offense.
Those schemes are tough to play against when a team never sees them....
