Shawnee Hosts Coweta Tomorrow, 7 pm

October 22, 2020

Shawnee (4-2, 4-0) beat Tulsa East Central (3-3, 1-3) last Thursday night, 35-7. The win places the Wolves atop district 5A-3 entering week eight of the high school football season.

The next three weeks will test the Wolves, however. Up next, tomorrow night will be #7 Coweta coming to town (6-1, 4-0), at McAlester (5-2, 3-1), and then home to end the regular season against #2 Tulsa Bishop Kelley (6-0, 3-0).

When asked to talk about Coweta, Shawnee head coach Jason Sexton was brief, "Coweta is good." Their only loss was to Wagoner, a perennial Class 4-A power, in week one, 28-0. Last week, Coweta squeaked by McAlester, 20-17. The Wolves played McAlester in a crazy week two matchup, 34-13. That week was when Ardmore cancelled the day before the game, forcing the Wolves to find a game quickly.

Kickoff is set for 7 pm.
