Shawnee Swim Team Celebrates Seniors With Big Win

SHS swim celebrated senior night on Dec. 8 and racked up a total of 760 points for a big win. Bixby came in second in the meet with 567. Ada and Byng also competed.

The Lady Wolves finished the day with 383 cumulative points, while the Wolves finished with 377 points.

With a time of 1:57.04, the Lady Wolves began took first in the 200-yard medley relay; sophomores Piper McNeil, Eva Webb, and Natalie Selman with senior Isabell Webb made up the relay team. McNeil, E Webb, Aspen Chapline and I Webb also took first in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:47-73.

The Lady Wolves placed first in seven individual competitions:

200 yard freestyle – McNeil; 200 yard IM - E Webb; 50 yard freestyle – I Webb; 100 yard butterfly – I Webb; 100 yard freestyle – E Webb; 100 yard backstroke – McNeil; 100 yard breaststroke – Selman.

The Wolves 200 yard medley relay team took first with a time of 1:51.14. Team members included Seniors Trent Ogden, Ryan Staal and Troy Rakestraw, and sophomore Ethan Oller. The same team members competed and won first in the 200 yard Freestyle relay.

In the first place win of the 400 yard freestyle relay, Oller joined up with senior Andrew Shepard and sophomores Vincent Tash and Thurman Lee to finish with a time of 3:54.44.

The Wolves won first in eight individual competitions:

200 yard freestyle – Lee; 200 Yard IM – Oller; 50 yard freestyle – Ogden; 100 yard butterfly – Staal; 100 yard freestyle – Justin Gilliam; 500 yard freestyle – Lee; 100 yard backstroke – Ogden: 100 yard breaststroke – Staal.
