Tecumseh Lady Savages Won Eight Of Last Nine Games

The Tecumseh Lady Savages continue to roll on the way to a 16-4 record. The T-Town ladies have won eight of their last nine games, including four in a row and were 2-0 last week.

Tecumseh traveled to McLoud on Tuesday night last week and ran away with a 59-27 win over the Lady Redskins. The first quarter was close as the Lady Savages took the opening period 15-11 before outscoring McLoud 14-5 in the second to lead by 13 at halftime.

The Lady Savages continued to pick up momentum in the second half as they outpaced the Lady Redskins 30-11 on the way to the rout. Tecumseh held McLoud to just three points in the third quarter and eight in the fourth to secure the win.

Tawny Billy led the Lady Savages in scoring with 15 points, including three treys against the Lady Redskins. Kenzli Warden was in double figures with 11 points. Katelyn LaFrance got close to double digits with a nine-point effort while Taylor Mansell tossed in eight.

Serenity Jacoway poured in six points for Tecumseh while Baylee Crawford added four points. Sami Schweighardt and Cadence Oliver each had three points in the win.

Friday night, the Lady Savages faced another cross-county rival as they hosted the Lady Wildcats from Bethel and cruised to an easy win. The Lady Savages led 13-7 after the opening quarter and pushed the lead to 30-17 by intermission.

Coming out of the halftime locker room, Tecumseh continued to build the lead with a 13-8 third quarter and held a 15-point advantage headed to the final stanza. The fourth continued to be all Tecumseh as they finished with a 20-9 quarter and a 63-34 win over the Lady Wildcats.

The Lady Savages had four players in double figures with Warden leading the way with 17 points. Schweighardt came off the bench and knocked down four three pointers for 12 points in the win. Billy scored 11 points with most of her scoring coming in the first half. Jacoway knocked down 10 points for Tecumseh. Crawford pitched in four points while Mansell, LaFrance, and Oliver each added three points.

The Lady Wildcats were led by Annie Compton with 13 points, followed by Parker Stevenson with 12. Hannah Davidson came up with five points while Bella Thomas had three and Brooklyn Duff added a point to the total.

The game scheduled for tomorrow (Friday) night against Harrah has been canceled, making the next game for the Lady Savages on Saturday, Feb. 20, at Heritage Hall for a District Title matchup. The Lady Wildcats will host a District tilt, also on Saturday the 20th, as they take on Chisholm.
