Talks Of A Lake Advisory Board Dominates Meeting
Twelve students were chosen as part of the 2020 delegation for the Sister City exchange trip to Nikaho, Japan. Due to Covid, the trip did not happen. However, Chairman Alicia Whiteman (far right) introduced four of the students to the Shawnee City Commission Monday, July 19. From left, Logan Matlock - North Rock Creek, Emelia Bronson and Addison Brown - Grove School, and Eva Grass - Shawnee Middle School. Whiteman said the other delegates had prior committments and were unable to attend the meeting. The remaining eight students are Avery Ford, Boston Busler, Carson Atwood, and Rachael Yu from Grove School and Emerson Thomas, Evan Babbie, Isabella Johnson and Mikay Teape from Shawnee Middle School. Seated behind the delegates from left are Shawnee Commissioners Ben Salter, Mark Sehorn, Darren Rutherford, Mayor Ed Bolt, Commissioners Travis Flood, Bob Weaver and Daniel Matthews.
