Brooksville Fire Department volunteer and heavy equipment operator Frank Phillips said they recently erected a flag pole and a new gate at the Brooksville Cemetery. He has also done the dirt work on an adjoining two acres land donated last year by Paul Meyer and Deborah Ball. - Two acres west of the Brooksville Cemetery was donated by Paul Meyer and Deborah Ball last year, and heavy equipment operator Frank Phillips has been leveling it and adding gravel paths recently. The cemetery has also been improved with a new gate and flagpole. Brooksville is celebrating its 120th year of township and held a reunion at the Community Center on Oct. 14. On Sat., Oct. 14, the Brooksville Community Center was filled with current and former residents - along with stories from the past and hopes for the future.
They were there to celebrate the town’s 120th birthday, and the theme was “Coming Back Together.” The last time they held a reunion like this was in 2003 for the centennial anniversary.
