With this grant from Avedis Foundation, Dale Public Schools will be able to purchase Assistive Technology to be used in their Special Education classrooms.

Children who require Special Education services, especially those identified with Severe Learning Disabilities, have the capacity to learn and grow in the skills necessary for independent living. However, acquiring and developing these skills also requires significant time, resources, and attention from skilled educators. This system promotes effective instruction and generalizes outcomes for both academic and functional skills using evidence-based practices.

“Our teachers now have the resources and capacity to focus solely on student learning and skill development. In Special Education, learning is a hands-on experience for both the teacher and the student,” said Margaret Mocabee, Director of Special Services Dale Public Schools. “The Avedis’ grant will put critical hands-on time back into each school day, and in Special Education, those hours are priceless.”

“Avedis Foundation is proud to support Dale Public Schools with the capacity to provide targeted Special Education services to the students within their district,’ said Kathy Laster, Ph.D. President and CEO Avedis Foundation. “This grant will allow teachers to focus more of their time on the individual and specific needs of students in this program.”

With the support of Avedis, this grant allows the school system to continue to provide the best in educational services to all children within the district.

Will Jones, Superintendent of Dale Public Schools, said, “Dale Public Schools is known throughout the area as a pillar of academic excellence. For a small school with a limited budget, a grant of this magnitude makes a huge impact. All of our children deserve the very best in educational excellence, and we are so grateful Avedis Foundation is willing to invest in our children today. Our Special Education programs will be forever changed as a result. We are thrilled to receive such a generous grant. Dale Public Schools’ desire to provide our students with the best education and curriculum to meet their individual needs couldn’t have been possible without the support from the Avedis Foundation.
