Pottawatomie County voted for a new Dist. 3 County Commissioner Tuesday, Nov. 8.
It was a tight race between candidate Abbigale Thompson and incumbent Eddie Stackhouse, unofficial results show 3,098 votes (51.11 percent) votes for Thompson, 135 more than Stackhouse, who finished with 2,963 votes (49.89 percent).
The Oklahoma State Elections Board website states results posted to the site for all election races are unofficial, unverified results. The county results will be certified by the county election board no earlier than 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11. State and federal results will be certified by the state election board Tuesday, Nov. 5.
In the race for the Dist. 23 District Judge, Traci Soderstrom won, garnering 56.16 percent of the votes (15,889) while Joe Dobry finished with 43.84 percent or 12,401 votes.
In another local race, incumbent Rep. Dell Kerbs will serve Dist. 26 for another term at the Oklahoma State Capitol. Kerbs defeated the young opponent, 24 year old Gregory Hardin, with 7,002 votes (67.53 percent) to Hardin’s 3,367 votes (32.47%).
Oklahoman’s also chose to continue having US Sen. James Lankford as their voice in Washington.
Lankford pulled in 737,018 votes (64.36 percent). MadisonHorn had 366,902 votes (32.04 percent). Kenneth Blevins (Lib) and Michael Delaney (Ind) split the remaining votes, 1.78 percent (20,390) and 1.82 percent (20,791) respectively.
US Rep. Stephanie Bice won her bid for a second term with 150,557 votes (59.09%). Opponent Joshua Harris- Till finished the race about 50K votes behind with 95,062 (37.31 percent) and David Frosch pulled in the remaining 3.81 percent of the votes for this race.
Incumbent, Gov. Kevin Stitt won his race for a second term, defeating Joy Hofmesiter with 637,026 (55.51 percent) votes to 478,865 (41.73 percent), respectively. The other two candidates in the race finished with less than 3 percent of the votes to split between them.
Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell walked away with a big win for another term in office. Pinnell finished with 64.93 percent of the 1,141.375 total votes cast in this race.
Oklahoma will usher in a new Attorney General with the new year. Gentner Drummond had an overwhelming 73.80 percent or 663,973. His opponent, Lynda Steele finished with 280,116 votes or 26.20 percent.
Todd Russ won the State Treasurer position with 64.83 percent (735,630) of the votes. Charles De Coune finished with 30.62 percent and Gregory Sadler had 4.55 percent of the total votes in the race.
In the race for Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters received a majority of the votes with 647,760 (56.83 percent) to opponent Jana Nelson’s 491,988 (43.17 percent) votes. Leslie Kathryn Osborn will take the office of the Commissioner of Labor after receiving 65.70 percent of the votes. Kim David won the race for Corporation Commissioner with 63.55 percent of the votes.
All Supreme Court and Court of Civil Appeals Judges on the ballot were confirmed to remain in office.
