A contractor for the City of Shawnee hit a medium pressure gas line in the 1100 block of Broadway, Tuesday, Feb. 20. According to a statement issued at the Shawnee City Commission meeting by City Manager Andrea Weckmueller-Behringer, “The gas that escaped subsequently quickly ignited so we have about a 15 to 25 foot flame.
