The racks are built out of wood to keep the tubes upright. They are then placed in v-shapes and zip-tied together, then secured into the ground with rebar.

A spectacular fireworks finale lit up the skies on July 3, but for the man behind the show, the true goal reached far beyond dazzling colors and booming salutes.
