    The Pottawatomie County Farm Bureau organized their 13th Annual Farmhand Olympics on Sept. 7 during the Pottawatomie County Free Fair at the Heart of Oklahoma Expo Center, and 52 area 4-H and FFA members participated. There were individual competitions in sunflower seed spitting, dummy roping, horseshoes and bolt block, followed by a team relay race. Burton Harmon, of the Oklahoma Farm Bureau, also spoke to the students about working with cattle safely. County Farm Bureau President John Grundmann and fair volunteer Gerald Rounsaville grilled over 100 free hotdogs. M.C. Josh Grundmann said the event is for the teens to have fun and practice teamwork before showing their livestock at the fair.

    Individual Winners of the Farmhand Olympics were Raice Abney, of NRC FFA, for Dummy Steer Roping; Antony Baird, of McLoud FFA, for Horseshoe Toss; Colton Ingersoll, of Bethel FFA, for Sunflower Seed Spitting; and Wes Gurney, of Bethel FFA, for Bolt Block. 

    Team Winners of the Farmhand Olympics Relay Race were, first place, Macomb FFA #2; second place, Bethel FFA #2; and third place, Bethel FFA #1.
