Pott. County Book and Office Supply Demolished

  • An office chair remains in the rubble which was once Pott. County Book & Office Supply at 109 E. Main in Shawnee. The building had its western wall blown out during the April 19 tornadoes. Then, its roof collapsed on July 3, and after closing that block, the city demolished the 116-year-old former Kress’s building on July 21. Pott. Main in Shawnee, the former Kress's building was structurally unsound, and caused the city to close that block of Main. After the business had been in that location for 40 years, it was demolished on July 21, said owner Terry Webb. The building had been built in 1907. Webb said, at this time, he doubts they will rebuild.
