Pottawatomie County Democrats held a meeting at the Shawnee Public Library, July 10, with several candidates for public office present to speak to voters. Present to speak were Melinda Alizadeh-Fard, nominee for Lieutenant Governor; Jason Bollinger, candidate in the primary runoff for United States Senate; Gregory Hardin 11, nominee for State House District 26; Joshua Harris-Till, nominee for the 5th Congressional District; and Karen Rackley, nominee for State Senate District 28.
County Chair Diana Hall said “I heard some ordinary people say some extraordinary things at the Democratic meeting today. It gave me hope we can make progress on health care, education, fighting against corruption, and public safety a reality. [We are excited as a county party to work to flip seats this November, and to make a positive impact in our community.]” This will be one of several meetings leading up to the November elections. The next meeting of Pottawatomie County Democrats is scheduled for 2 pm, August 14, at the Shawnee Public Library meeting room.
