In 1982, 18-year-old J.D. Sanders graduated from Capital Hill High School in OKC and decided to follow in his father’s footsteps.
“My dad was in the Air Force, and that was kind of the reason,” said Sanders. “However, I wanted to have a job where I carried a weapon, but I didn’t necessarily want to be a dig-in-the-dirt grunt, you know, so I decided against the Army and the Marine Corps.”
