Marcos Maldonado, a phlebotomist-apheresis technician, draws blood from Jeromy Sowder, of Pink, at the annual Tecumseh Community Blood Drive, organized by the Tecumseh Chamber of Commerce and held at American Legion Hill-Huett Post 260 on June 27. Sowder said he first started donating blood 30 years ago while attending Tecumseh High School, when there was a blood drive in the Alumni Building. This year, donors received a T-shirt and tickets to an OKC Dodgers game from Oklahoma Blood Institute. Volunteer Debbie Blakeslee said there is a blood shortage, and O- is especially needed.
