Vietnam Veteran Danny Glenn describes a "gong" made from a 120 millimeter gun shell hung from a tree and used to wake them up in one of the POW camps where he was held prisoner for six years. Glenn spoke about his experiences at the Pottawatomie County Historical Society on May 4. A bronze plaque outside the museum was dedicated to Glenn that day. Countywide & Sun/Natasha Dunagan

U.S. Navy Pilot Commander Danny Glenn was flying an A-4C Skyhawk over North Vietnam when he went across a clearing in the overcast clouds. It was the 135th mission of his second cruise when he was hit three times by anti-aircraft artillery.
It was three days before his 27th birthday in 1966 when he was captured and taken to a POW camp - one of five he would be moved to in the six year...
