  • As part of the Gourd Dance, participants give money to individual dancers and join them in the dance, said SHS Indian Education Director Graham Primeaux in an email, during the Shawnee and Tecumseh Indian Education Powwow, held at the SHS Performing Arts and Athletic Center on June 13. Recipients can keep the money or donate it to the drum singers, who were the Warchief Singers in this case, said Primeaux.  See full caption below.
    As part of the Gourd Dance, participants give money to individual dancers and join them in the dance, said SHS Indian Education Director Graham Primeaux in an email, during the Shawnee and Tecumseh Indian Education Powwow, held at the SHS Performing Arts and Athletic Center on June 13. Recipients can keep the money or donate it to the drum singers, who were the Warchief Singers in this case, said Primeaux. See full caption below.
