Margaret Reed, 90, passed away on Oct. 2, 2026. Margaret was born on Feb. 12, 1936 to Joseph “Joe” & Hilda Lauderdale Smyers in Oklahoma City, OK. She graduated from Maysville High School and attended for one year at East Central in Ada, OK.
Margaret was proud of being a medical transcriptionist for the Shawnee Medical Center Hospital for 17 years. In 1955, she married Joe Reed. They were married for 54 years before her husband’s passing.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her parent-in-laws, David and Mary Reed; her sisters, Christina Smyers Matthews, Reba Smyers Hicks, Patricia Smyers Walker, and Beverly Smyers Floyd; her nephew, Andy Glen Floyd; and her nieces, Erika Floyd and Angie Floyd.
She is survived by her sons, Mike Reed and wife Tracy, Jody Reed; her cherished grandchildren, Sydney Stevenson and husband Cody, Colby Reed, Kylee Reed, Marley Reed and fiancé Jason Herndon, Dawson Reed, and Mallory Reed; and her great-granddaughter, Scarlett Stevenson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the care of Riley- Walker Funeral Service & Crematory.
