A reception was held before the Jan. 10 Shawnee Board of Education meeting at the Shawnee Public Schools Central Office. It featured performances by the Jefferson Elementary School Honor Choir and the Shawnee Middle School eighth-grade band, with the help of SHS student Loralei Brem, since several members were absent. There were also refreshments available for those in attendance.
