The Bethel Wildcats took an early lead in the first quarter Saturday and finished the night as District Champions.
In the first half of the game against Atoka, DJ Whitten netted four treys. Bray Bussell came back from halftime to lead the offense with ten points in the third quarter.
Atoka continued to nip at the heels of the Wildcats throughout the game, but the Wildcats finished with a 64-60 win.
Bussell was high point scorer for the Wildcats with 17 points for the night. John Gordon added 13 points to the books, followed closely by Bussell with 12. Jace Stewart put 9 points on the scoreboard, and Bronc Robbins had 7.
RJ Morris, Garren Sheppard, and Si Foreman each put 2 points in the books.
Bethel will travel to Atoka to take on Hugo in the first round of regional play Friday. Tipoff is at 8:30 pm. The winner will face off against the winner of the Kingston/Prague game at Prague Monday at 8 pm. The loser will play Lexington Saturday at Prague.
