Voters in Shawnee will cast their ballots on a 0.5 percent tax increase in January 2023.
After much deliberation at the Monday Oct. 3 Commission meeting the board voted to approve the establishment of a 0.5 percent sales tax. A resolution was approved as well, calling for a special election to submit the question on said sales tax to voters.
