A successful Cross Country season culminated in a trip to the State Meet for the Savage team and a couple of Lady Savages making it to the big state.
The Tecumseh boys squad finished 3rd in last week’s Regional Meet held at Waurika on Saturday, Oct 22. With a 3rd place finish, the entire Savage boys team qualified for the State Meet. The Regional finish is the highest in the history of Tecumseh Cross Country.
Tecumseh was just 13-points behind 2nd place Plainview and 36-points behind the Regional Champion, Cache. The lofty finish by the seven who ran in Regionals qualifies Logan Haworth, James Negahnquet, Izak Williams, Levi Bingham, Tim Wallace, Braydon Self, and Jessy Thoma for State.
The Savage individual placers were Haworth in 3rd place, Negahnquet in 10th, Williams in 15th, Bingham in 24th, and Wallace in 28th place.
On the Lady Savages side, Harper Stone and Aaliyah Stargell, coming in 12th and 46th, respectively, qualified for the State Meet. Besides Harper and Stargell, Shelby Bradford, Kaydence Hale, and Tylee Brock ran in Regionals for Tecumseh.
Stone, along with Savages, Haworth, Negahnquet, and Williams, all received a medal at the Regional Meet.
