This has been a year of achievement and recognition for The West Law Firm, the Shawnee- based firm now in its 55th year of providing trial-tested legal services to clients.
Most recently, the firm was named to the “Best Law Firms in America” list by U.S. News & World Report -- Best Lawyers in their 2023 edition, announced on November 3. The firm is recognized in the Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs, Tier 1 category (the highest of three categories) for the metropolitan Oklahoma City area, which includes Shawnee. West has been named to the “Best Law Firms in America” list each year since the first edition in 2010.
The “Best Law Firms in America” recognition is based on exhaustive peer review surveys in which tens of thousands of leading attorneys throughout the U.S. confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The designation recognizes the firm’s professional excellence, breath of legal experience and client service.
Earlier this year, Terry West, founder of The West Law Firm, was named to the related “Best Lawyers in America” list in the Tier 1 category of Personal Injury Litigation - Plaintiffs in the metropolitan Oklahoma City area for 2023. West first appeared on the “Best Lawyers in America” list in 2001 and he has maintained an annual listing for more than 20 years.
In another 2022 achievement, Managing Partner Brad West and Terry West were both named to the 2022 Oklahoma Super Lawyers list, a ranking which includes a small percentage of practicing attorneys in the state. Both West attorneys have been named to the Super Lawyers list annually since 2006.
Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters company, is a nationally recognized professional survey and ranking service of accomplished attorneys who have achieved a high degree of peer recognition and professionalism. The annual selections are made using an indepth, multi-phase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an evaluation of nominees in each state and peer reviews in each practice area.
In March of this year, Terry West was honored as one of three inductees into the University of Tulsa, College of Law, “Hall of Fame” by the UT Law Alumni Association. This follows the 2019 creation of the Terry West Legal Clinic at the UT College of Law, which offers law students wide-ranging experiential learning as advocates and problem- solvers for clients who face diverse civil legal problems.
In May of this year, Brad West was voted the 2022 Best Attorney in the Shawnee News-Star “Best of the Best” Awards, a program to recognize and celebrate the best of Shawnee in multiple categories, including legal service.
