Sammy Dale Williamson passed away February 22, 2023.

He was born on January 28, 1934 in Okemah, OK to John and Sarah (Godwin) Williamson.

Sammy graduated with the class of 1954 from Okemah High School. He attained his Bachelor’s Degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State in Criminal Justice. He married Lois Mae Fisher on June 27, 1958 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Sammy proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.

He worked in law enforcement and retired from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Sammy was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Lois Williamson; his parents, John and Sarah Williamson; four sisters, Ann Williams, Peggy Hodges, Helen Tate and Minnie Duke; four brothers, Bob Kennedy, Clyde, Jack and Leonard Williamson.

Those left to cherish his memory are two daughters and one son-in-law, Valerie and Clayton Ballenger of Broken Arrow, OK and Lisa Hurley of Shawnee, OK; one son and one daughter-in-law, Kevin and Sherry Williamson of Henryetta, OK; 8 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

Services were held February 27, 2023 at Sharon Baptist Church with Reverend Clint Dawkins and Sam Garner, OHP Chaplain officiating. Burial followed at Highland Cemetery in Okemah, OK under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
