The title of this column comes from an answer I recently received when I asked one of our street people why people live on the streets of Shawnee. (BTW: I have only heard a few street people use the word “homeless.” A very narrow definition of “homeless” would exclude street people who have a home, albeit, on the streets of Shawnee.)
