UPDATE: The suspect is in custody, the victim is in stable condition.
Tecumseh Police Chief J.R. Kidney said the shooting happened at about 6:30 pm. He also said he has been advised the victim is in stable condition.
Chief Kidney said they will continue to investigate and get to the bottom of what took place tonight. He would like to thank the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, Absentee Tribe, the Pott. County Emergency Management, and many more.
An active manhunt is in progress in the Tecumseh area.
A shooting occurred this evening, Mar. 24, 2023, at McDonald’s near Gordon Cooper Drive and Bob Crouch Road. A female was shot multiple times and is currently being transported to OU Medical Center.
The suspect, a black male, possibly in a white hoodie, left the scene on foot and was last spotted behind Circle D Pawn Shop.
Police ask that people avoid the area while the search is going on.
