Dinah Jan Holbrook passed away on June 4, 2023. Dinah was born on August 19, 1941 in Ada, OK to Tommie Maines and LaFern (Donaghey) Maines. Dinah graduated from Ada High School in 1959. Later that year, Floyd Holbrook became her husband on October 17, 1959 in Ada. After they were married, she studied business at East Central College in Okmulgee, OK. She worked as an executive assistant for many years before retiring from Edward Jones. Dinah was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Floyd. Dinah is survived by her sons: Tommy Holbrook and wife Barbara of Shawnee, OK, Jay Holbrook of Yukon, OK, grandchildren: Heather Young and husband Morgan of Broken Arrow, OK, Kelli Holbrook of Guthrie, Ok, Kevin Holbrook of Ft. Collins, CO, Jayme Sharp and husband Matt of Morris, OK, Elizabeth Chepkwony and husband Benson of Harrah, OK, Jessica Sanchez and wife Lillian of Norman, OK, Jerrod Danner and wife Chelsea of Tecumseh, OK, and Lucas Holbrook of Del City, OK as well as 15 greatgrandchildren.
Thursday, June 8, the family will be present to greet friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. A funeral ceremony to celebrate Dinah’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2023 at the Heritage Church, 227 N. Union Ave., Shawnee, OK. Dinah will be laid to rest next to her husband privately at the Rosedale Cemetery in Ada, OK.
