Betty Jean (Nabors) Tate was born on February 7, 1964, to her parents, Virgil and Dora Nabors in Tishomingo, OK. She graduated from Kingston High School in 1982.
In 1985, Betty moved to Shawnee. While living in Shawnee, Betty met Billy Don Tate and they married on December 19, 1987. Betty worked with various companies and organizations in Shawnee, including Sunshine Industries and South Central Community Service.
In 2018, Betty was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and it later spread within her body. She fought and battled for her life for five years, showing the strong, brave person she was to all her family and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Virgil Ray and Vinson Don.
She is survived by her son, Dustin of Duncan, OK and her remaining siblings: Sharon of Madill, OK; Dora Mae of Madill, OK; Donna of Mannsville, OK; Brenda of Acworth, GA; and Linda of Shawnee, OK.
Services were held September 5, 2023 at The Salvation Army Church.
