Maxine Ann Warren Marzuola, 93, of Ponca City, OK, passed away on Dec. 28, 2023. She was born Sept. 9, 1930, in Dow, OK, to Cecil Roger and Julia Persiani Warren.
Maxine graduated from Haileyville High School in Haileyville, OK. She married Louis Marzuola, Jr., on July 28, 1951.
In 1955, they moved to Shawnee, OK, for her husband’s job with the Rock Island Railroad. They remained there until 2017 and raised their family in Shawnee. In 2017 they relocated to Ponca City, OK.
She worked in a number of clerical positions at Sears, Roebuck & Co. and Shawnee Public Schools. She also served a term on the Shawnee Public Schools Board of Education as a Board member.
She was a willing volunteer and served in a number of positions for the N.A.R.V.R.E. (National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees, INC) in support of her husband’s work on the Rock Island and Union Pacific Railroads.
Maxine is survived by her 97-year-old husband of 72 years, Louis Marzuola, Jr., and her three children: JuliAnn Marzuola (Corky Reese), St. Petersburg, FL; Sheila Rose (Gary), Midwest City, OK; and Randol Marzuola (Jocelyn); seven grandchildren: Jennifer Gilby (Jon), St Petersburg, FL; Renee’ Marzuola, Tulsa, OK; Denise Rose (Bryan Hebert), Austin, TX; Melissa Howard (Jim), Prosper, TX; Jeremy Marzuola (Ingrid), Carrboro, NC; Michael Rose (Whitney), Bixby, OK; and Allison Mahaney (Tom), Port Angeles, WA; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her great-granddaughter Addalyn Ann Bourasaw.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Friday, January 5, 2024, at Resthaven Memorial Park, Shawnee, OK, preceded by a private family burial ceremony.
