James Hugh Sheets

James Hugh Sheets passed away on Dec. 16, 2023. James was born on July 12, 1943, in Tonkawa, OK, to Troy Winton Sheets and Gladys Anna (Fischer) Sheets.

Following his education, James worked as a hairstylist for the Oklahoma Beauty Pageant for a number of Miss Oklahoma contestants and notably did the same for everyone’s favorite clown, “HoHo.”

James married Vickie E (Freeling) Sheets on April 2, 1965, in Oklahoma City, OK. While in Enid, James owned and operated three different trucking companies serving the oil industry, including Northwest Services Trucking. He and his wife operated a switchboard operating business called BSW company. Later in life, they moved to Shawnee, and James worked faithfully for Lowe’s Home Improvement Center before his retirement.

James was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Troylene White.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie E Sheets, of the home in Shawnee; two daughters: Kim Marie Sheets of Shawnee and Julie Deighton and husband Patrick of Guthrie; by a son, Stacy Glenn Sheets and Lance Fisher, of California; and by two brothers, Rollie Sheets of Idaho and Terry Sheets of Ponca City; five grandchildren: Christopher Mabary of Oklahoma City, Devin Mabary of Edmond, Tyler Mabary of Edmond, Brianna Mabary of Oklahoma City, and Dalton Sheets of Shawnee; four great grandchildren, Cayden Padilla, Lily Mabary, Hannah Tiger and Gunnar Tiger and other extended family and many good friends.
