Martin Starr passed away January 30, 2024. Martin was born on January 24, 1938 in Concho, OK to Theodore and Lucille (Green) Starr. He graduated from Goodland High School with the class of 1956. Martin worked as a chef for several restaurants in Shawnee and Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Martina Starr; sisters, Margaret Ellis, Luvenia Tiger, Mary Torrez-Salazar, Rebecca Roubidoux and Bernice Blanchard; and brothers, Jimmy Gibson, and Rance George Starr.
Martin is survived by two sons, David Starr of Shawnee, and Lloyd Starr of Mesa, AZ; sister, Vera Walker; brothers, Thomas White and Edward” Chuck” White of Shawnee, OK; and other extended family and friends.
Tribal Rites will be held Thursday evening, February 1, 2024 at the Creek Family Home, 5200 Bethel Road, Shawnee, Oklahoma with Melvin Wilson officiating. Burial will be Friday morning, February 2, 2024 at Creek Family Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
