Jimmie Loyd Sing passed away January 12 after a valiant battle with cancer. Jim was born at home near Macomb, OK to Toby E. and Martha O. (Carpenter) Sing on July 4, 1943, along with his twin brother Jackie Floyd. He graduated from Macomb High School in 1961.
He was an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)-certified mechanic. He owned and operated several salvage yards and auto shops in Tecumseh, Shawnee, and Choctaw.
Jim is survived by his wife Delores (Fisher) Sing; children, Natalie Dovedan (Nick) of Edmond, Katie Brooks of Tallahassee, Fla., stepdaughter Kim Carr of Granbury, TX; and from his first marriage to the late Pam (Austin) Sing: Emily Sing of Shawnee, Travis Sing of Tulsa; grandchildren Brynn, Aidan, Carys, Riley, and Alex; sisters Nora Lee “Chee” Doss of Broken Arrow, and Judy Sing of Shawnee; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as all five brothers and one sister. As per his wishes, his mortal remains were cremated, and the family will hold a Celebration of Life event in the future at a date to be determined.
